The Modesty Rabnott Snidget Reservation was a Snidget Sanctuary in Somerset, England for the preservation of the endangered Golden Snidget. It was set up by Chieftainess Elfrida Clagg roughly a century after Chief Barberus Bragge first introduced the Snidget into a game of Cuaditch (Quidditch). The Reservation was established in response to the dwindling numbers of the Golden Snidget, and the subsequent decision by Chieftainess Clagg to outlaw their use in Quidditch.[1]
History[]
The Reservation was named for Modesty Rabnott, who famously saved a Golden Snidget from a Quidditch match in 1269.[1]
During the 1990–1991 school year, Snidgets were smuggled by at least three witches and wizards from this sanctuary.[2]
During the Calamity in the late 2010s or early 2020s, a Calamity Investigator working for the Statute of Secrecy Task Force visited this sanctuary to observe Golden Snidgets in the wild. Inspired by the manner in which the birds agilely evaded predators, the investigator incorporated these evasive manoeuvres into their defensive strategy, helping them better dodge adversaries' attacks.[3]
