Moles are the majority of the members of the mammal family Talpidae in the order Soricomorpha.[2] A mole was one possible corporeal form of the Patronus Charm.[3]
History[]
Rubeus Hagrid owned a coat made of moleskin,[4] and Severus Snape had a mole stuffed inside a glass jar.[5]
A mole could be found in the London sewers.[6]
In the 2010s, Newton Scamander's portrait, which was placed inside the Magizoology suitcase given to an unidentified student, compared the nature of Nifflers to that of moles, and commented that Nifflers may have enjoyed sunlight more than moles.[7]
Behind the scenes[]
- Illustrator Jim Kay chose to incorporate a mole when doing a portrait of Severus Snape as a way to say he was indeed a mole, a spy working for both sides.[8]
