Montgomery was the surname of a wizarding[1] family. Their blood status is unknown, but since one member of the family (Mrs Montgomery) refused to give aid to the Death Eaters, it seems likely that they opposed the notion of pure-blood supremacy.
History[]
In 1996, the five-year-old son of Mrs Montgomery was attacked by the savage werewolf Fenrir Greyback. Greyback attacked the boy after his mother refused to help the Death Eaters. Greyback got so carried away during the attack that the boy latter died of his injuries at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. The Montgomery sister's were deeply effected by this and were visibly unhappy after it happened. It is unknown how Phillip Montgomery handled the death of his family member.

- ↑ It is not likely that the Death Eaters would have sought the help of a Muggle, and thus Mrs Montgomery was probably a witch, like her daughters.
