The Mooncalves Dancing was Kaliope's family's long lost lullaby song.
History[]
The memory of the lullaby being sung was kept in a phial, which was later thrown into the Great Lake by Kal's grandmother Petra (due to her insecurity about her singing talent) and kept by a Selkie named Hydriades until he gave it back to Kal in the 2010s.[1][2][3]
Lyrics[]
Mooncalves dancing in the field tonight.
Big eyes glowing in the pale moonlight.
Cloudless sky makes a starry crown.
Mooncalves dancing utill they all fall down.
Merfolks singing in the deepest gloom.
Heroic tales of sunken tombs.
Seagrass secrets lost long ago.
Merfolk singing to lure us 'low.
Close those eyes an' drift off to sleep.
What dreams may come are yours to keep.
When morning lights shines bright an' true.
Has an all new day been made for you.
Mandrakes cry in the forest glen.
Something's digging in the dirt again.
Bury them deep won't make a sound.
Mandrakes crying over there the underground.
Behind the scenes[]
- The song was sung by Christian Wirtz in the English version and by Kenji Yamamoto in the Japanese version of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened. The English version was written by Rob DeBorde.
