Biography

In the 1980s or early 1990s, Jacob's sibling would often bond with and feed this Murtlap.

During the 1987–1988 school year, Jacob's sibling and Rubeus Hagrid brought a Clabbert to the Lake at the Magical Creatures Reserve in order to train its alertness to help protect the reserve. Before they could start training, this Murtlap approached the Clabbert, with Hagrid claiming that it had arrived to greet the Clabbert. However, the Clabbert was alarmed and flashed its pustule red, indicating that it saw this Murtlap as a dangerous stranger. Jacob's sibling and Hagrid were able to calm the situation down, after which this Murtlap left the scene. Hagrid explained that the Clabbert was still new to the area and thus saw all of the unfamiliar creatures there as potential threats, inspiring Jacob's sibling to engage in another training session with Hagrid to help familiarise the Clabbert with its new neighbours.
