Nellie Oggspire (fl. 1890) was a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 19th century.[4]
Biography[]
When Nellie was five, her mother found her on their roof and had no idea how she got there.[4]
Nellie began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1880s and was sorted into Gryffindor. Before the 1890–1891 school year she made it to the top of Gryffindor Tower without a broom, a feat which was remembered by Nearly-Headless Nick nearly a century later when he was telling stories about notable former Gryffindor students.[4][6] After the new fifth-year student arrived that year, Nellie told them about the Daedalian Keys and asked them to catch one, as each led to a cabinet.[7] She also participated in the Crossed Wands duelling club.[5]
Personality and traits[]
Nellie found it helpful to change her point of view every now and then to keep things in perspective.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
- Nellie is voiced by English actress Jessica Hayles in Hogwarts Legacy.[8]
- If the player chooses Gryffindor house in Hogwarts Legacy, they will introduce themselves to Nellie in the Gryffindor common room on their first day. They can find Nellie walking on top of the mantelpiece while other students disapprove. She will hop down to speak to the player, saying it is "perfectly safe" and calling the others "highly strung". She is interested to know about the dragon which attacked the player's carriage on the way to Hogwarts.[4]
Appearances[]
- Hogwarts Legacy (First appearance)
- Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery (Mentioned only)
Notes and references[]
- ↑ Nellie was a Hogwarts student in 1890, and if the player is Gryffindor, she would tell the player on 2 September about her experiences around and knowledge about the castle, which suggests she's at least a second-year, therefore she must have been aged 12–18 during this year.
- ↑ Her mother is implied to have been a Muggle, considering she had "no idea" how Nellie got onto their roof, whereas a wizard would be well acquainted with the concept of underage magic.
