New Forest is a forest in south-west Hampshire and extending into south-east Wiltshire. It was home to a Gytrash colony.[1]
In Marauding with Monsters, Gilderoy Lockhart wrote about his adventures in the heart of the New Forest in search of the infamous Wild Ponies, ending up finding (and defeating) a Gytrash colony instead.[1] The veracity of these events is doubtful, given Lockhart's theft of other people's achievements.[2]
