This Deathday Party was held by Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington for his 493rd deathday in the Deathday Ballroom. He asked Jacob's sibling to help him with the invitations. A travelling ghost, Erling the Great, who visited Hogwarts around the same time, shared the same deathday,[2] and they eventually celebrated together.[1]
Background[]
Sir Nicholas and the Fat Friar were preparing for this party when the Fat Friar got distracted by Erling's arrival at Hogwarts. The Fat Friar, along with Jacob's sibling, soon knew that Erling's deathday was also 31 October, so they suggested the two hold a party together. However, this idea was rejected by Erling who wanted to hold his own party.[2]

Sir Nicholas became annoyed with Erling, and planned with Jacob's sibling and Merula Snyde to sabotage his party by preserving the food that was intended to be spoiled. They found Erling's food in the Great Hall and carried out the plan, but was discovered by Professor Sprout, who ordered Sir Nicholas to forfeit his own food to compensate Erling.[4]
Celebrations[]
The party went on with no food, which disappointed his guests. The Fat Friar called together Sir Nicholas and Erling to ask once again for them to hold a party together to salvage the evening. They eventually agreed to do so, and Erling moved his party to the ballroom.[1]
A dance was held in the ballroom. Jacob's sibling and Myrtle Warren danced together.[1]
