This card was a magical piece of card, that contained directions to the Flamel House via an enchanted arrow on the paper.[1]
History[]
In 1927, Albus Dumbledore gave Newt Scamander the card, telling Newt that it was the protected home of a "very old acquaintance" of his in Paris, indirectly suggesting that Newt should travel there.[1]
Newt initially refused as he was already under scrutiny by the British Ministry of Magic and officially forbidden to travel internationally, due to his activities in America during the Obscurial attack on New York. A trip that he had also undertaken at Dumbledore's indirect suggestion, via a tip about an American Thunderbird (Frank) that needed to be rescued from traffickers in Egypt and returned to its habitat in Arizona.[1]
However, Newt then relented and eventually did visit the home, with Tina Goldstein, Jacob Kowalski, and Yusuf Kama, after obtaining the Zouwu from Circus Arcanus on the Alexander III Bridge.[1]
