- "Noggin is not green and neither are his insides. Noggin's insides are pink. Like ickle children like you."
- — Carmen Malum describing Noggin.[src]
Noggin was the pet Nogtail of Carmen Malum.[1]
Biography[]
Noggin arrived at Hogsmeade with Carmen, where he lived in her cave on the outskirts of Hogsmeade. When she was not taking him out on walks in the night, Noggin was kept locked up in a cave. His favourite treat was mustard-covered Cauldron Cake, preferably day-old Dijon Mustard. The Dark wizard Alistair Fidgen realised Noggin was there and concocted a plan. He brewed large amounts of Blight-B-Gone, a potion he claimed would cure blight on crops, then broke the lock on Noggin's cage, though Noggin managed to tear a piece of his cloak off whilst he was doing so. Noggin soon caused a blight on Hogsmeade's crops, as well as on Hogwarts's grounds.[1]
Professor Kettleburn realised a Nogtail was behind the blight and began to track Noggin, eventually finding him in the Training Grounds, but Noggin was scared off by a Hogwarts student, who was also tracking Noggin. The student got the idea to try to lure Noggin, and acquired a mustard-covered Cauldron Cake which they planted in Rubeus Hagrid's pumpkin patch. When Noggin turned up to eat the treat, they caught him, and returned him to Carmen.[1]
