Northumberland was the hometown of Mildred and her cousin.[2]
During the 1990–1991 school year, an explosion occurred at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning in Northumberland, caused by a wizard dropping an Erumpent horn. The witches and wizards there saved the Muggles.[2]
