Oh, Rosana!

Oh, Rosana! was an American No-Maj musical play adapted by playwright Chester Hidland from a book by Edmund Major II. The music was composed by Wallace Lassiter and the lyrics were by Stanley Eldridge.

History[]

The New-York Clarion hailed the play as "one of the great works of the American musical theatre" and declared it "exciting up to the final curtain!"

A production of this play, presented by Bernard Lockwood in association with Maurice Willards, was slated to begin at the Brockman Theatre in New York on the evening of 4 January 1927. The production starred Dorothy Sheridan, and also featured Hilda Kendrick and her dancers, Danielle and Natalya. The production was staged by Clyde Sizemore.[1]

The Sunrise Early Edition of The New York Ghost published on 30 May 1927 referred to the play as a "hit Broadway musical" and was to receive a wizarding adaptation.[2]
