- "Shame. Those splinters must be what's left of Ollivander's wand."
- — A student remarking the destruction of this heirloom[src]
This heirloom wand was created before the 1790s and was owned by the Ollivander family. It consisted of apple wood and a fairy wing core.[1]
History[]
The wand was owned by Gerbold Ollivander's ancestors and kept in the Hogsmeade branch of Ollivanders, but went missing when a Hogwarts student called Richard Jackdaw, who was an assistant at the shop, stole it in the 1790s. Jackdaw took it to a cave where he was later beheaded, and the wand was destroyed.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- The wand will only appear in Hogwarts Legacy if the player chooses Ravenclaw house. At Gerbold's request, a student searched for the wand in the 1890s, but by then, the wand had already been destroyed.[2] The Ollivander family was pleased that the wand had been located even though it was somewhat unusable.
- These events are contradicted by others if the player chooses a different house.
