An onion is an edible bulb vegetable produced by the plant Allium cepa.[1] Noted for their strong taste, onions are eaten as a vegetable and are often used to add flavour to roasts, soups, and salads.[1]
Onions are also a flavour in Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans.[2]
History[]
Red onions were served in the Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1890s.[3]
In the 1990s, Rubeus Hagrid had a rack filled with various types of onions in his hut.[4]
In 1996, Luna Lovegood added a slice of onion to a glass of Gillywater in the Three Broomsticks Inn, Hogsmeade.[5]
