The Opening Charm[2] (Aberto)[1] was a charm which opened doors.[1]
History[]
On 7 December 1926, Queenie Goldstein tried to use this spell to gain entry to the office of Percival Graves after a regular Unlocking Charm failed to work. However, this spell also failed, leading Queenie to speculate that Graves had locked the door with an advanced charm.[1]
Etymology[]
In Portuguese and Galician, aberto is the word for the adjective "open".[4]
