- "Dreadful thing, Dumbledore, but the governors feel it’s time for you to step aside. This is an Order of Suspension — you’ll find all twelve signatures on it. I’m afraid we feel you’re losing your touch."
- — Lucius Malfoy informing Albus Dumbledore of his suspension in 1993[src]
An Order of Suspension was a document used for the suspension of the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In order to remove said Headmaster, the Order of Suspension had to be signed by all twelve school governors.[1]
History[]
In mid-1993, Lucius Malfoy (then-chairman of the Board) blackmailed the other eleven governors to sign Albus Dumbledore's Order of Suspension, threatening to curse them and their families. This blackmail, however, cost him his position as a school governor, after Dumbledore's reinstatement some days later.[2]
