"I mistranslated 'ehwaz'! It means 'partnership', not 'defence'. I mixed it up with 'eihwaz'."

Ossio Dispersimus was the incantation of a Healing spell used to remove the bones from the targeted body part. Bones would vanish, making the affected body part (i.e. an arm) have a rubber feel.[1]
Etymology[]
Ossio being a derivation of the Latin "ossis", meaning "bone"; and dispersimus the first-person plural perfect active indicative of dispergō, meaning "to scatter", or "to disperse". Overall it reads "to scatter/disperse bone".
Behind the scenes[]
- In the GBC version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Lockhart uses this spell, instead of Brackium Emendo, to "fix" Harry Potter's broken arm bones. This seems a hint to his ineptitude as a wizard, as the spell's etymology seems to clearly identify its effects.
- The incantation is only uttered by Lockhart in the French and Portuguese translations of the game; in English, Lockhart says "This should fix it".
