Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso.[1]
History[]
Gilderoy Lockhart once falsely claimed that he had helped put a stop to "a series of attacks" in this city, which were apparently similar in nature to Petrification by a Basilisk, by giving the townspeople protective amulets.[2]
The Order of Air Voyagers for Intrepid Wizards inducted Lockhart as a member after he flew to Ouagadougou on broomstick (although Lockhart's membership certificate described the African city as "the furthest most [sic] point in Siberia", possibly indicating that the document was forged, and that Lockhart never made such a long-distance flight).[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- Although Lockhart said this city is located in Siberia, Siberia is in reality an Asian region controlled by Russia. This inaccuracy heavily implies Lockhart's document was forged by himself, as it contained an obvious geographical error.
