This spell (incantation unknown) could remove the feeling of pain, mental and presumably also physical, from another person and draw it onto the tip of the caster's wand.[1] The spell was tied to ancient magic. However, it also appeared to drain the target of all emotion if it was used too much.[3]
Known uses[]
Isidora Morganach created and performed this spell within her lifetime to remove the pain of her brother's death from her father.[1]
She also attempted to use this spell on Niamh Fitzgerald without her permission.[4]
In the 15th–16th century, Isidora used this spell to extract pain and emotions from the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where she worked as a professor. She stored these emotions in the final repository, a storage unit constructed of goblin silver.[3] These emotions were eventually released during the invasion of Ranrok in the 1890–1891 school year, giving him not only the unnatural ability to transform into a dragon when absorbed, but also near-invincibility and extraordinary offensive and defensive power.[2]
