The Patonga Proudsticks were an African Quidditch team that played out of Uganda. To the surprise of the Quidditch-playing world, they held the Montrose Magpies to a draw in 1986. Six of their players represented Uganda in the Quidditch World Cup, the highest number of players from one team ever recorded.[1] The team's mascot was possibly the crowned crane, as the bird was depicted in the background of one of their posters.[2]
