A Persian cat is a breed of cat characterised by its round face and short muzzle.[1]
A Persian cat was one possible corporeal form of the Patronus Charm.[2]
History[]
Persian cats were popular pets owned by both Muggles and Wizardkind. They were commonly owned by first year students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[3]
Dolores Umbridge had a corporeal Patronus in the shape of a Persian cat. In 1997, she used her Patronus in order to keep Dementors at bay whilst interrogating Muggle-borns for the Muggle-Born Registration Commission, at the Death Eater controlled British Ministry of Magic. Her cat Patronus vanished after she was Stunned by Harry Potter.[2]
