- "Phials are used to hold all sorts of potions."
- — Description[src]
Phials (also spelled as vials)[3][4] are containers which usually held liquids or gases. Most potions and potion ingredients were bottled in phials and were consequently sold in those amounts.[1]
In the wizarding world[]
One set of glass or crystal phials were part of the required equipment for classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. One place first-years could acquire them was in Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment in Diagon Alley: glass phials cost three Galleons and crystal phials cost seven.[1]
Phials could also be purchased as part of the Potion Kit Bag sold at Mr Mulpepper's Apothecary, also in Diagon Alley.
