- "I, of course, don't claim to speak phoenix..."
- — Garrick Ollivander after conversing with Pyra[src]
Phoenix was the language spoken by phoenixes. Although, to most people, phoenixes would appear to converse with nothing more than squawks like most avians, one could learn the language and come to understand the meanings behind the squawks, finding that phoenixes were fully sentient birds and able to have conversations with great depth and meaning.[1]
Known speakers[]
Aside from phoenixes themselves, a number of humans were able to speak the language.
- Garrick Ollivander
- Albus Dumbledore (possibly)[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- This was likely the language that the Phoenix Lament was sung in, which itself was a form of mental magic.
