This unidentified individual was a wizard who was Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry sometime before Armando Dippet. After his death, his portrait hung in the Headmaster's office in order to give advice to the current Head.[1][2]

An inscription on his portrait read "Atatis XXXV,"[3] indicating that he was aged thirty-five when the portrait was painted, as atatis is a Latin form of "aetatis", meaning "at the age of."[4]

The inscription on his frame reads "Suprem Aeris regio Aquce Salsa Regio Vegetabis Pura".[5]
