Pisces is one of the twelve astrological signs in the western zodiac.[1] Every year, the sun is in this sign from 19 February to 20 March, and those born during this period are considered Pisces (also called Pisceans).[1] Spellbound magazine ran an article on the compatibility of Pisces and Leo in a 1927 issue.[2] By 1995, the Daily Prophet ran a horoscope for Pisces and the other signs of the zodiac in the horoscope section featured on its back page..[3]
Traits[]
Pisces were considered the water sign by astrologers; like the ocean, Pisces could adapt to any situation and go with the flow. Pisces were known for being ruled by their emotions. They absorbed the energies surrounding them and were likely to make decisions based on their hearts rather than their heads. When Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger were on the Horcrux hunt, Ron (a Pisces) was the most affected by Slytherin's Locket. He was so sensitive to its power – much more than logical Hermione or even Harry – that he temporarily left his friends. However, Ron recognised how deeply he had felt the energy of the locket and returned.[4]
Pisces were known for being the most loyal friends. They were dependable, generous, and would help anyone who had fallen upon hard times. Those born under this zodiac sign could also be attracted to the cosier side of life – however, if they found a cause or a project they truly believed in, they were also capable of hard work and sacrifice.[4]
According to the astrologers, one of the biggest journeys in a Pisces' life was the one of finding their sense of self. This could be tricky for the star sign as their symbol (two fish swimming in opposite directions) demonstrated. A great example was Ron: As the youngest in a large family, he often questioned his place, overshadowed by his accomplished siblings - he eventually grew, discovered who he was.[4]
