This plot was a series of events that occurred after Anne Sallow was cursed by Victor Rookwood during the raid on Feldcroft in the 1880s. After Solomon Sallow, Anne's uncle and guardian, gave up on finding a cure for Anne and simply wanted to keep her comfortable in her condition, Sebastian Sallow took it into his own hands to find a cure through any means, including experimentation with the Dark Arts.

Timeline of events

Before 1 September 1890

• Raid on Feldcroft: the event in which Anne Sallow was cursed by Victor Rookwood.
  • After this, the Sallow family visited everyone from Noreen Blainey to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, but they simply could not find a cure.

1890–1891 school year

Main series of events

• On 2 September 1890, Sebastian could be seen reading a spellbook in the Slytherin common room, searching for a cure, but the spellbook produced no results.
• Sebastian befriended a new student at the school, with whom he snuck into the Restricted Section, hoping to find a cure. They were caught by Peeves, and Sebastian never achieved his goal of finding more information. However, the other student discovered the Athenaeum.
• Sebastian showed his friend the Undercroft, and the student had a thorny encounter with Ominis Gaunt, Sebastian's best friend. The student was invited to Sebastian's house, where they met Anne and Solomon Sallow. Sebastian attempted to cure Anne with a Shrivelfig, but it was destroyed by Solomon, who urged them to stay away from finding a cure.
  • At Feldcroft, the pair discovered Isidora Morganach's house, which had a secret ancient magic link back to the Undercroft. Once there, a triptych appeared with only one panel, which depicted the Overlook Mine.
  • One way or another, Sebastian found out about his friend's ancient magic powers, and became convinced that they could be used to help Anne.
• Skirmish at the Overlook Mine: Sebastian and his friend infiltrated the Overlook Mine, an abandoned mine used by Ranrok's Loyalists, and found a hideout belonging to Isidora Morganach, containing the second fragment of the triptych. They returned to the Undercroft.
• Skirmish at Tower Tunnel: Sebastian pushed his friend to use his ties to the Keepers, and ability to use ancient magic, to find a cure, but his friend was reluctant, claiming that it was not that easy. This was much to Sebastian's chagrin. They infiltrated Tower Tunnel and found another hideout of Isidora Morganach with the last part of the triptych.
  • A Pensieve appeared which showed Isidora Morganach's ability to extract pain. After seeing this, Sebastian begged his friend to use their powers for Anne's benefit.
  • In the end, his friend did not use his powers to cure Anne, however.

Other events

• Break-in of Slytherin's Scriptorium: as Sebastian realised that his uncle was unwilling to help them, he took it upon himself to enlist his new friend and Ominis Gaunt's help in opening Slytherin's Scriptorium, hoping to find the secrets of Salazar Slytherin within.
• Infiltration of the Feldcroft Catacomb: Slytherin's Spellbook, which Sebastian had discovered within the Scriptorium, spoke of a relic within the Feldcroft Catacomb, with the power to heal via Dark magic. Sebastian and his friend entered the Catacomb, but had been followed by Ominis Gaunt, who urged them to stop. Sebastian's friend either persuaded Ominis, or used the Imperius Curse on him, before they left.
• Skirmish at Feldcroft: the Sallow family and Sebastian's friend fought off waves of Ranrok's Loyalists that were attacking Feldcroft, culminating in Sebastian using the Imperius Curse on one, which caused him to be evicted from his home by his uncle.
• Skirmish in the Feldcroft Catacomb: after being evicted, Sebastian sent his crest to his sister as a coded message to summon her back to the Feldcroft Catacomb. There, he used the relic to summon and control Inferi which populated the chamber, while Anne Sallow rushed to get Solomon's help. Sebastian's friend fought off the Inferi and reached Sebastian, but they were stopped by Solomon. Sebastian and Solomon engaged in a duel before Solomon was murdered by Sebastian.
  • After these events, Ominis Gaunt asked their mutual friend if they should turn Sebastian in or not. Sebastian's fate was left up to their friend.

Results

Overall, the plot was a failure. Anne Sallow was never cured, Solomon Sallow was senselessly murdered, and it was unlikely that Sebastian Sallow ever recovered from what he had done.
