A porcupine is a small spine-covered rodent.[2] They are indigenous to North America, South America, Africa, and southern Asia.[2]
History[]
Porcupine to Pin Cushion was a transforming spell covered in the 1985–1986 school year second year Transfiguration class, where students were expected to transform porcupines into pincushions.[3]
Porcupine quills were used as an ingredient in the Cure for Boils.[4] They could also be used to make the Porcupine Robe, a special type of robe, which protected the wearer by hurting anyone who tried to attack them.[1]
Creepy Scrawlers Stationers, a stationary shop in Diagon Alley North Side, had a porcupine for its sign.[5]
Powdered Porcupine was a wizarding sweet presumably made from porcupines.[6]
