This portrait depicted Isidora Morganach, a Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the Tudor period. It was kept within her house long after the building had been abandoned and fallen into ruin.[1]
History[]
By the 1890–1891 school year, the portrait had been damaged, with Isidora's face having been intentionally burned off. Sebastian Sallow and his friend discovered the portrait when they investigated Isidora's house, with Sebastian's friend surmising that it might have been damaged in a fire during Victor Rookwood and Ranrok's raid on Feldcroft the preceding summer. Sebastian saw that the damage to the portrait was intentional, so he was not entirely convinced.[1]
