This portrait depicted a group of three North African witches loudly wailing.[1]
History[]
This portrait hung at Hogwarts Castle in the 1990s, on the seventh-floor landing of the Grand Staircase, between a portrait of a witch flying to the moon and a portrait of two lovers in a graveyard.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- One of the women in the portrait was portrayed by Sally Samad. Her casting agency profile lists her role as "Burbur [sic] Lady".[2] The Berbers are an ethnic group indigenous to North Africa, including Egypt, and their traditional dress is consistent with costumes worn by the actresses in the portrait.[3]
