The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, informally shortened to Prime Minister, is an appointed Muggle individual to serve as head of government of the United Kingdom.[1][2]
Relation to the wizarding world[]
The British Prime Minister was traditionally informed on the existence of the wizarding world on the night of their appointment. They were occasionally visited by their wizard counterpart, the Minister for Magic, over affairs that might have an impact on the Muggle world, such as the escape of Sirius Black,[3] the mass breakout from Azkaban, and the return of Lord Voldemort.[2]
In the event that there was a magical-Muggle collision that was simply too obvious to be explained away, the prime minister would liaise with the British Ministry of Magic's Office of Misinformation to devise a plausible cover-up story (for example, any photographs of the Loch Ness Monster being fake).[4]
The secrecy of the wizarding world is maintained that in the event that the Prime Minister were to tell anyone of their meetings with the wizards, it is hardly likely that they would be believed.[2]
