"He was itching to get back on his own Firebolt and try out the Wronski Feint... Somehow Oliver Wood had never managed to convey with all his wriggling diagrams what that move was supposed to look like..."
— Harry Potter, on the limitations of Wood's diagrams[src]

During his time as Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, Oliver Wood used a number of diagrams to show new manoeuvres and tactics to his team. These diagrams could be animated with the tap of a wand to further showcase the moves in question.

History[]

At the start of the 1992–1993 season, Oliver showcased a number of these diagrams to the Gryffindor team, outlining a new training programme he had spent the previous summer working on. Unfortunately for him, he had decided to do this early in the morning on the first weekend of the school year, and thus the rest of the team was too tired to properly process the information he was providing.[1]

Sometime before his graduation in 1994, Oliver Wood attempted to teach Harry Potter the Wronski Feint via these diagrams. However, Harry compared this attempt negatively to seeing the move in person at the 1994 Quidditch World Cup final.[2]
