This was a potion essential to the magical game of Quodpot, because it prevented the Quod from exploding (the ball usually exploded after some time, forcing the player that was holding it to leave the field). There was a small cauldron (the "pot") containing the solution in every Quodpot pitch, and goals were scored by placing the Quod inside the pot.
