Ragnuk the First was a goblin king. According to some goblins, such as Griphook, Godric Gryffindor had stolen his sword. This is considered stealing by goblins, as they believed that Gryffindor should not have passed it on to the next generation, but returned it to Ragnuk, at his demise.
Behind the scenes
- Ragnuk was mentioned in the third W.O.M.B.A.T. test on J.K. Rowling's Official Site as one of the possible answers to the question "Which of the following did NOT provoke one of the bloody goblin rebellions of the 17th and 18th centuries?" Because J.K. Rowling has yet to post a full set of answers to the quiz, Ragnuk's accusation may or may not be Canon.
