Remus Lupin's wand was 10¼" long, made of cypress, and contained a unicorn hair core. The wand was manufactured by Garrick Ollivander and was described by him as being "pliable".[1]

History

Remus most likely purchased it at Ollivander's wand shop at the age of eleven before beginning his education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1971.[1]

It can be assumed he wielded this wand throughout the First Wizarding War, while being a member of the Order of the Phoenix.[2]

During the 1993–1994 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Lupin used his wand whilst teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts, in particular with teaching students how to perform the Boggart-Banishing Spell.[3] He also used his wand to teach Harry Potter his Anti-Dementor lessons.[4]

He performed powerful magic with this wand, including the Patronus Charm.[5] Peter Pettigrew took this wand from Remus when he turned into a werewolf. He then used it to stun Ron Weasley and Crookshanks. Harry then disarmed Pettigrew and Remus recovered his wand.[6]

Remus last used his wand during the Battle of Hogwarts to duel Antonin Dolohov,[7] where he lost and was killed by the Death Eater. What happened with his wand after his death is unknown, though it is possible it was laid to rest with him.

Remus also used this wand in many battles of the Second Wizarding War such as: the Battle of the Department of Mysteries,[8] Battle of the Astronomy Tower,[9] Battle of the Seven Potters[10] and the Battle of Hogwarts,[7] during which he was murdered by Death Eater Antonin Dolohov.

Appearance

The colour of the wood seemed to differ from dark to light throughout the length of the wood and to the base. There seemed to be a handle at the base that is rounded.
