- "Harry, don't forget to keep checking your report card."
- — Hermione Granger to Harry Potter[src]
A report card, or simply report,[1] is a paper used to communicate a student's performance. In most places, the report card is issued by the school to the student or the student's parents twice or four times yearly. Every student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry owned a report card,[2] presumably given at the end of the school year.[1]
History[]
In 1994, Dudley Dursley received a scathing report card from Smeltings Academy, which detailed his poor academic performance, bullying of other pupils and the fact that his obesity meant he could no longer fit into the school's uniform. However, his ignorant parents Vernon and Petunia could not understand why the school gave him such a negative report card.[3]
