The Republican Party is a right-wing American political party, that was founded in 1854.[1]

In its 6 December 1926 issue, the New York Chronicle reported that a speech given that day by President Warren G. Harding in support of the Ship Subsidy Bill was "fraught with the most dangerous consequences" for his party, as it was opposed by Republicans from the Midwest.[2][3]
