The River Wye is a river that forms parts of the border between England and Wales.[1]

History[]

Sometime during the lifetime of King Arthur, one of the Knights of the Round Table, Sir Cadogan, had been given the task of defeating the Wyvern of Wye, a monstrous dragon-like beast that was terrorising the area. During Cadogan's encounter with the Wyvern, the beast broke his wand, melted his sword and ate his horse. However, after fleeing, Cadogan found a pony and charged back into battle armed with nothing but his broken, misfiring wand. The wand pierced the Wyvern's tongue, setting off the fumes rising from its stomach, and causing it to blow up.[2]

Almerick Sawbridge defeated a river troll which threatened people crossing the Wye sometime in the 17th century.[3]
