This repository was a store of ancient magic located beneath Rookwood Castle, the home of Charles Rookwood, one of the four Keepers. Along with the final repository located in the Keepers' Caverns, it was one of two such stores of magic in the world.[1]
History[]
The existence of the repository became known to Ranrok after his brother, Lodgok, started an investigation into the site in the 1880s.[2] Ranrok destroyed it, absorbing the ancient magic within.[1] This magic gave him extraordinary physical power.[3] By the time the repository was found by Professor Eleazar Fig and his fifth-year student in the 1890–1891 school year, the repository had already been fully depleted, emitting a dull, red glow, and Ranrok was actively searching for the other of its kind.[1]
