Rosenbaum's Motorcycle Owner's Manual was a guide to motorbike operation and maintenance written by Rosenbaum and published by Hespa Publishing. It covered several models of motorbike manufactured between 1956 and 1962, including the LW Thunder 200, Limabird LT, Twin Speed 210, Vite V69, MM Tiger T100, Trohpy ES21, and Trohpy ES22.[2] The book had at least 14 issues.

Sirius Black acquired a copy of the 14th issue of this book sometime before leaving his parents' home at the age of sixteen in 1975 or 1976.[2] This copy could still be found in his childhood bedroom in 1997 when Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger took refuge in the house following their escape from the wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour.[2]

Behind the scenes

Sirius' possession of the book suggests that his motorcycle was one of the models covered in the manual. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone, the motorcycle was portrayed by a 1956 Triumph Bonneville T120.

Notes and references

  1. The book was found in Sirius Black's childhood bedroom at 12 Grimmauld Place in 1997, meaning that it must have been published in or before 1976, since Sirius ran away from home in 1975 or 1976, and thus could not have acquired it at an earlier date.
