Rubeus Hagrid owned a handwritten cookbook with recipes for desserts, among which was one for Holiday Blancmange.[1]
History[]
During the Christmas holiday in 1986, Jacob's sibling and Charlie Weasley decided to give Severus Snape a present to thank him for his work in taking care of Hogwarts during the holidays and of Charlie after he had fallen from a ladder when setting up Christmas decorations around the Castle.[2] Knowing he had a fondness for Holiday Blancmange and that no one in Hogsmeade appeared to be making it, they gathered the necessary ingredients and went to Hagrid's Hut to bake it, since Snape could catch them if they opted for the kitchens, and that would spoil the surprise. Hagrid was excited about it, and allowed them to use his cookbook for it.[1]
