These ruins were the remains of a house belonging to Percival Rackham. Once thriving, it had been abandoned and left for nature to destroy it. The building was in partial ruin and the bridge to it had collapsed.[1]

Description[]

The ruin was perched on a rock and connected to the mainland via a bridge. The main hall had a statue of Rackham who was once the owner of it. One part of the wall had a mural on it that suggested the owner was a Seer. Another had an enchanted, crystallised stone on it.[1]

History[]

In Tudor times, Charles Rookwood and Percival Rackham used the building to create a private entrance to Gringotts Wizarding Bank behind a wall with an enchanted, crystallised stone on it. They protected the entrance with ancient magic so only those with the ability to detect it could follow their path. They also enchanted a key to serve as a Portkey to the ruins.[1]

Long before 1890, the building was abandoned and over time, destroyed by nature and left in ruin. The path which led to a bridge had an enchanted wall of ice protecting it. The bridge to the building had collapsed. Miriam Fig sent her friend George Osric a container with the key inside. Eleazar Fig and his new student opened the container and travelled to the ruin via the Portkey. In order to reach the ruin, the student used a spell to break the ice. Eleazar fixed the bridge.[1] They began exploring the ruin which led the student to the enchanted stone on a wall glowing with ancient magic. Behind the wall was a glowing room which revealed itself when they used magic on it. Upon touching it, they were transported to Gringotts.[1]
