Officer Ruth Singer was a witch who worked as a Magical Law Enforcement Officer in the late 19th century.

Biography

During the 1890–1891 school year, Ruth Singer was in Hogsmeade when trolls attacked the village. She helped direct people to draw them away from the buildings and asked the new fifth-year student and their companion to help with the repairs afterwards.

She was told by Isko Rabe about his kidnapping and false imprisonment by the Ashwinders. She chided the two Hogwarts students who rescued him, Natsai Onai and the new fifth-year student for undertaking the dangerous rescue on their own.

The new fifth-year student told her about Cassandra Mason's haunted dungeon. She confronted her, got Stunned by her, and arrested her after the student defeated her in a duel. She forced Cassandra Mason to sign over the documents of ownership of her shop to the student and her house-elf and took her to Azkaban.

She received a letter from Natsai Onai, stating to meet them at Manor Cape. She informed her mother, Professor Mudiwa Onai, about it, and they both arrived at Manor Cape, where Singer arrested Harlow.

Physical description

Singer had light skin and black hair. She wore a black top hat with black work overalls.

Magical abilities and skills

• Transfiguration: Singer was able to swiftly incapacitate Cassandra Mason with the Incarcerous Spell, which was a form of Conjuration.
• Charms: Singer swiftly used the Silencing Charm on Cassandra Mason when she began to protest her arrest.
