These two silver keys was made by Salazar Slytherin. They were made to unlock the scrollcase which held the scroll that broke the curse that Salazar Slytherin had placed on his compass.[1]
History[]
These keys were made of silver and hidden around Hogwarts Castle by Salazar Slytherin, with at least one being hidden in the Forbidden Forest.
During the late 1980s, Everett Avery searched for these keys using the compass, which was an Avery family heirloom. He found both of them, though one was stolen by an imp and he had to recover it. When he was confronted by Merula Snyde and Jacob's sibling in the ballroom, he reluctantly handed both keys to Jacob's sibling, who unlocked the case and read the incantation on the scroll inside, breaking the curse.
