The effects of the spell Salvio Hexia are not completely understood, but it is believed to deflect hexes that are being cast on the protected area.
Known uses
Hermione Granger used this as a protective spell on the campsite she shared with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in 1997.[1]
Etymology
The spell's incantation is possibly derived from the Latin salvare meaning 'to save' or 'to protect', and the Hexia portion is simply a Latinisation of the word 'hex'.
