In Quidditch, the Scoring Circle was a particular area on the pitch around the goalposts where scoring chances were more likely to occur.[1]
History[]
During the USA vs Brazil match in 2014, Beater Lucas Picquery's misfired Bludger struck Keeper Susan Blancheflower in the face. Blancheflower then tried to jump onto Picquery's broom to confront him. However, she made the mistake of venturing too far outside the Scoring Circle, giving Chaser Alejandra Alonso the opportunity to briefly put Brazil in the lead.[2]
