The Sea Urchin Jinx (incantation unknown) was a jinx that transfigured the target victim into something similar to a sea urchin, with tiny spikes erupting all over the victim's body. It apparently created awful discomfort in the target.
During the 1989–1990 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Bill Weasley taught this jinx to a group of sixth year students in one of his Defence Against the Dark Arts tutoring sessions. During this class, Ismelda Murk used the jinx on Ben Copper.
This spell was used on 2 May, 1998, during the Battle of Hogwarts, by Percy Weasley on an Imperiused Pius Thicknesse. This happened right before his brother Fred died as the result of an explosion.
Behind the scenes
- The duel between Percy and Pius is not shown in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, therefore this jinx is not seen either.
