Seeker Weekly was an internationally-published magazine about Quidditch published in the United Kingdom.[1]
History[]
In the autumn of 1991, the magazine ran an edition with articles including early Quidditch World Cup predictions, new brooms, and the Transylvanian National Quidditch team.[2] This was followed shortly thereafter by a "Focus on Rising Stars!" issue with coverage about Viktor Krum, the latest Holyhead Harpies signings, and Harry Potter becoming the youngest Gryffindor seeker in a century.[3]
In 1994, it ran a special edition covering the final match between Bulgaria and Ireland at the Quidditch World Cup.[4][5]

Behind the scenes[]
- The prop of the special edition of Seeker Weekly featured in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire states that the magazine is in its 240274th issue by August of 1994. If that was the case, and presuming a weekly frequency, the magazine would have been founded in around the year 2610 BC. This cannot be considered canon because it is self-defeating: the first record of a primitive form of Quidditch (Kwidditch) dates to c. 1050 and, indeed, the earliest known reference to wizards using broomsticks as a means of conveyance dates to A.D. 963.
- The cover images from Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells have the same edition number, 240274, as the prop for the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
