A Self-Playing Harp was a harp that was magically capable of playing by itself.[1]
History[]
During the Calamity which affected the wizarding world in the late 2010s and early 2020s, a Self-Playing Harp belonging to Madam Malkin became a Foundable trapped in a whirlwind Confoundable. Members of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force overpowered the whirlwind with the counter-spell meteolojinx recanto, which allowed them to return the harp back to its original owner.[1]
Minerva McGonagall also owned one of these enchanted harps, which resided in her office at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The harp's tones could be heard around midday during lessons at the school. This harp also became a Foundable around Valentine's Day in February 2020.[2]
