"Harry and Ron slouched into the Great Hall in states of deepest gloom, Hermione behind them, wearing a well-you-did-break-school-rules sort of expression. Harry didn't enjoy his shepherd's pie as much as he'd thought."
— Description[src]

Shepherd's pie is a traditional English meat pie that consists of lamb and vegetables and is then covered in mashed potatoes.[3]

History[]

Shepherd's pie was served at dinner at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1] It was served at lunch at least once in the 1980s. While most students were eating lunch that day, Talbott Winger and Jacob's sibling looked for his lost necklace on the Training Grounds.[4]

Elton Elderberry had owned a file detailing his own recipe for shepherd's pie which became misplaced in the 1990–1991 school year. Jacob's sibling found it in the Spirit Division after Olivia Green tasked them with finding it for him.[2] Harry Potter had it for his dinner in 5 September 1992, though his impending detention with Gilderoy Lockhart somewhat spoiled his enjoyment of it.[1]
