Shield Gloves were magical objects created by Fred and George Weasley and sold at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.
History[]
These gloves were enchanted with a Shield Charm and, when worn, shielded the wearer from many light to moderate jinxs and hexes. They were quite useless against more powerful spells, though, including the Unforgivable Curses.[1]
Originally, Fred and George created Shield Hats as a joke item for their shop. However, after the Ministry of Magic ordered five hundred of them for their support staff, the Weasleys expanded the line into Shield Gloves and Shield Cloaks as well.[1]
Victor Gridley owned a pair of Shield Gloves and often wore them as a part of his usual attire. He used the gloves to deflect some Stunning Spells from Daniel Page in 2011.[2]
